1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Bassfinity ("Service"), operated by Bassfinity ("we," "our," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Bassfinity provides AI-powered fishing tools and resources, including but not limited to:

  • Solunar fishing forecasts and predictions (SolunarBass)
  • Fish species identification tools (BassLens)
  • Ice fishing safety tools (IceLens)
  • The Intelligence Map — layered water conditions including wind, flow, clarity, waves, tides, satellite imagery, and Community Hot Zones
  • SpotLens micro-location guidance, including best-spot and casting recommendations and community spots
  • TackleLens gear recommendations
  • A curated directory of lakes
  • User profiles and catch logging
  • Educational fishing content

Certain features are available only to paying subscribers ("Pro"), as described below.

3. Account Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

4. Subscriptions, Billing, and Cancellation

Bassfinity offers an optional paid subscription ("Pro") that unlocks additional features. The following terms apply to Pro subscriptions:

  • Pro is billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through our payment processor, Stripe.
  • Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period at the then-current price until you cancel.
  • You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation stops future renewals, and you keep Pro access through the end of your current billing period.
  • Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable, and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods or unused features.
  • We may change subscription prices or the features included in a plan. We will provide notice of material price changes, and any change takes effect on your next renewal.

5. User Content

Your Content

You retain ownership of content you submit, including photos, catch data, saved spots, reviews, and profile information ("User Content"). By posting User Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content in connection with the Service. This includes using catch and spot data in a de-identified, aggregated form to power community features such as Hot Zones.

Content Responsibilities

You agree not to post content that:

  • Infringes on intellectual property rights of others
  • Is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or harassing
  • Contains malware, viruses, or malicious code
  • Is fraudulent or misleading
  • Violates the privacy of others
  • Promotes illegal activities, including poaching or fishing violations

Content Removal

We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms or that we find objectionable, without prior notice.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service without permission
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Use the Service to spam or harass others
  • Circumvent any access controls or usage limits

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, content, and underlying technology, is owned by Bassfinity and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

"Bassfinity," "BassLens," "IceLens," "SolunarBass," "SpotLens," "TackleLens," "Intelligence Map," and our logos are trademarks of Bassfinity. You may not use these marks without our prior written consent.

8. Third-Party Services and Data

The Service integrates with third-party services — including Google and Discord (authentication), Stripe (payments), and Mapbox (maps and geolocation) — and draws on public and third-party data sources such as NOAA, USGS, and Copernicus/Sentinel for weather, water, and imagery data. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services or the accuracy of third-party data.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
  • Results obtained from the Service will be accurate or reliable
  • Solunar predictions or fishing forecasts will guarantee fishing success
  • AI-powered identifications (BassLens, IceLens) will be 100% accurate
  • Conditions and map data (wind, flow, clarity, waves, tides, water levels, and imagery) will be accurate, current, or complete
  • SpotLens or TackleLens recommendations will lead to fishing success

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BASSFINITY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US (IF ANY) IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Fishing Safety and Conditions Data Disclaimer

Our tools — including IceLens ice assessments and the Intelligence Map's conditions data (wind, water flow, clarity, waves, tides, water levels, and satellite imagery) — are provided for informational purposes only and are drawn in part from third-party and modeled data sources that may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. SpotLens spot and casting recommendations are suggestions, not guarantees. Do not rely solely on this information for safety or navigation decisions. Always exercise personal judgment, follow local regulations, check current conditions, and consult local authorities before engaging in any fishing or boating activities. We are not responsible for injuries, accidents, or damages resulting from fishing or boating activities.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Bassfinity and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any rights of another.

13. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings. Upon deletion:

  • Your account enters a 30-day recovery period
  • You can recover your account within 30 days by logging in
  • After 30 days, all data is permanently deleted

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms, without prior notice or liability.

14. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Bassfinity regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
